Abstract

There are various options for the treatment of occluded femoropopliteal (fem-pop) bypass graft. Although surgical revision generally results in higher patency rates compared to endovascular therapy, it is also associated with higher rates of complications such as nerve injury, wound and graft infection, and bleeding. Especially, in absence of adequate distal run-off vessels, repeat bypass graft surgery is associated with increased risk of bypass graft failure. In this case report, we present two cases of fem-pop polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) graft occlusions in which infrapopliteal percutaneous transluminal angiography was performed in combination with a surgical embolectomy using a Fogarthy catheter.
